Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

To ensure Pullman and Novotel is a secure environment by implementing security systems, policies, and procedures in accordance with hotel standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Patrol assigned areas (guest floors, lobby, basement parking) during duty periods and report all untoward incidents, policy violations, fire/safety hazards, and breaches of hotel decorum.
  • Monitor and secure guest rooms and hotel property, including fixtures, equipment, and accessories, whilst providing assistance to guests as required.
  • Maintain vigilance in lobby and public areas; greet guests appropriately and monitor for undesirable visitors, banned elements, and persistent troublemakers, reporting concerns to senior security staff.
  • Operate security control room as the nerve centre of the security department; respond to incidents, manage communications, and maintain incident logs as per LSOP's and management instructions.
  • Conduct security checks at all entry points (main porch, staff entrance, service gates) using Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD), Hand Held Metal Detectors (HHMD), Baggage Scanners, and Under Vehicle Surveillance Systems (UVSS).
  • Verify identity credentials for all employees and visitors; issue visitor cards and manage vehicle access, including supplier and staff vehicle inspections to prevent unauthorised removal of hotel/guest property.
  • Ensure smooth vehicular traffic flow at main entrances and commercial gates; welcome guests with appropriate courtesy phrases and conduct thorough vehicle checks before entry.
  • Oversee basement parking security; prevent unauthorised access, ensure proper vehicle parking procedures, and guide visitors to offices and hotel facilities.
  • Verify all security equipment is operational at assigned stations and maintain proper handover procedures between shifts.
