Job Description

  • KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial

  • Helps meet the departments targets by following the preparation instructions as per SOP’s and using the right doses, by avoiding waste and loss of merchandise and by respecting the hotel's procedures and internal audit processes.
  • Manages billing and cash operations for the services sold.
  • Is responsible for the bar's cash (floating cash) and cash transactions.

Operational

  • Provides a friendly and personal welcome for guests and is constantly attentive to their needs
  • Ensure that pre service requisites are met and “Bar Opening Procedure Checklist” is completed.
  • Ensure the bar areas are maintained in a clean and orderly manner at all times with regards to standards and hygiene.
  • Serve drinks to customer in a friendly and helpful manner and with a smile bearing reference to service policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all products are served according to Outlet/Hotel standards.
  • Maintaining the product quality, by checking beer pipes, cordials, juices etc.
  • Keep track of wines, beers, liquors, and other supplies,  maintains par stocks & requisitions according to business needs
  • Promotes the bar offer and helps create a good atmosphere
  • Have a general awareness of Health and Safety in relation to all tasks and activities undertaken in the department.

Business plan /Analysis

  • Stock rotation (FIFO system of inventory management)
  • Promotes the bar's special offers, cocktails and full range of products and Increases bar revenue through additional sales techniques.
  • Helps manage stocks and inventories
  • Be responsive and helpful with regard to out of menu items, such as classic cocktails and expand personal knowledge in this area as much as possible.
