Job Description

 Marketing Communications Manager 

  1. Maintains good working relationships with local and international media
  2. Maintains current media lists: local and international travel, leisure, lifestyle, entertainment, business and food editors
  3. Executes media placements for hotel through news releases and personal contacts
  4. Develops business and leisure travel promotions and release to press and/or target audience
  5. Explores valuable media trades where appropriate
  6. Serves as hotel spokesperson, when appointed by General Manager, to make all official statements for hotel to media, especially during crisis situations
  7. Maintains photo/electronic library of hotel ExCo and all other aspects of hotel
  8. Maintains and update hotel’s website and hotel’s pages on RHR website
  9. Arranges photography of VIP guests and maintain archives
  10. Submits stories/photos to media and RHR regularly
  11. Monitors news coverage and circulate internally
  12. Maintains updated hotel press kit to include news releases, ExCo biographies & photos
  13. Assists Director of Sales and Marketing in developing and producing sales support materials for hotel (newsletters, brochures, mailers, promotion materials, in-room information, guides, etc.)
  14. Assists Director of Food and Beverage in development and production of signage, menus, and other F&B collateral materials
  15. Monitors all printed materials for adherence to corporate identity standards
  16. Coordinates all special events and promotions and ensures maximum publicity (example: Artist Series, Bartender Series, Classical Music Soirees, Media Events, Garden Tree Lighting Ceremony, Festive Events, Launching Events, and other)
  17. Establishes PR & Communications programs that will benefit and support sales and F&B strategies and initiatives
  18. Evaluates request for hotel donations of services/financial participation from civil, social and charitable organizations; respond to requests, coordinate reservations and preparation of gift certificates
  19. Coordinates joint fundraisers and other community promotions
  20. Serve as hotel’s representative on major civic or community programs
  21. Assist with creation and implementation of local, regional and international advertising
  22. Conduct regular department training – with focus on employees’ career development
  23. Contribute to employee newsletter, announcements and other printed materials published by Human Resource department
  24. Attain awards and accolades. Target hotel and F&B recognition through a diligent awards action plan and track progress throughout the year to ensure that the targeted awards and accolades are achieved. Actively promote the existing awards and accolades to gain more exposure for the hotel and food and beverage.
  25. Support and drive positive internal Public Relations working together with the T&C Team, ensuring that colleagues are aware of all the great things happening at Raffles Maldives . Communicating achievements to Accor so that Raffles Maldives is featured in Accor communiqués and other communication channels
  26. Continuously find ways to expand the database and develop a wider audience that can be reached for Raffles promotions and news.
  27. Provides guidance to the Digital Marketing Specialist, attends the Digital Marketing Weekly meeting and supports to drive digital initiatives and goals
  28. Collaborates seamlessly with the External PR Agency and communicates effectively, making sure the full value of the external agency is received, leveraging the strengths of the PR Agency and using them to full advantage
  29. Guides and supports the members of the Marcom team creating and following a development plan for each colleague

  1. Sound luxury hotel marketing communication knowledge
  2. High computer literacy
  3. Diploma or degree in communication science, general management or hotel management
