About Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill 

The Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill is located on the central city fringe, just minutes from the CBD, Brisbane River, Suncorp Stadium and public transport.  Overlooking the city skyline and Roma St Parklands, the Hotel features 179 spacious guest rooms with generous open-aired balconies, modern amenities, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness room, and an alfresco-style restaurant and bar. 

Are you passionate about keeping operations running smoothly and creating exceptional guest experiences? 

Join our team as a Maintenance Manager, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring our hotel remains well-maintained for guests! In this role, you will oversee the upkeep of all hotel facilities, managing repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance programs. You will also lead a small team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, maintain key systems such as HVAC, and ensure compliance with safety standards. 

Additionally, your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintain records of repair work and daily checks as required by local Council, Government and manufacturer specifications.
• Liaise closely with front desk and housekeeping regarding out of order rooms to expedite a quick turn around and return to inventory.
• Research, recommend and liaise with the General Manager regarding procedures to improve the overall efficiency of the department and to carry out project work/prepare reports as requested by the General Manager.
• Ensure the external areas of the hotel are neat, tidy and maintained in line with company brand standards.
• Be actively involved in the hotel's WHS Committee.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• A background in Maintenance or Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience supervising a maintenance function within a large complex
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office and Opera
• Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to make sound decisions and understand commercial implications
• An ability to think strategically and plan on a mid to long term scale
• Confident and articulate communication, negotiation, relationship and networking skills
