Job Description

Scope and Objectives

To perform general maintenance work on a daily basis for the hotel rooms and public areas, to provide extraordinary levels of customer service to ensure guest satisfaction. 

  • Perform general maintenance for the guest rooms and public areas as required and ensure highest levels of guest satisfaction. 
  • Maintain clean and tidy all the tools and trolleys used for maintenance purposes.                                                   
  • Respond to any guest compliant and resolve the compliant with heights standard to ensure guest satisfaction.   
  • Review and evaluate, tools, equipment and materials required for performing the maintenance and communicate with the supervisor.  

Supportive Functions 

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel. 

  • Works towards, achieving highest standards of guest satisfaction. 
  • Involvement in other activities as advice by the management and as necessary. 
  • Support in snagging and de-snagging process. 

Physical Requirement 

Performing these duties requires experience in using basic hand and power tools and the ability to stoop, kneel, grasp, lift, push and pull weights up to 80 lbs., climb ladders up to 40 feet high and reach in all directions, often times overhead 

Frequency Key:  Never – 0 hours; Rare - up to 1 hour; Occasional - 1-3 hours; Frequent - 3-6 hours; Constant - 6-8 hours 

Some lifting of cartons or boxes, climbing on step stools, opening file drawers

Other Duties   

  • Assimilate the Accor Mission, Vision & Values culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards. 
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Accor from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. 
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.  
  • Upon employment, all team members are required to fully comply with Accor rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the hotel facilities.  Team members who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.  
  •  In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times. 

HSE Requirements   

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.” 

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability    

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. 

  • Repair or replace all types of tiles, floor and wall as and when required 
  • Maintain the equipment and tools in good order and to maintain all stores organised. 
  • Responsible for the proper use and security of Ken- Fixit equipment and trolley. 
  • Responsible for engineering related guest room requests and response in a timely manner. 
  • Responsible to repair or replace all types of tiles, floor and wall as and when required. 
  • Responsible to repair and fix damaged shelving and furniture when necessary. 
  • Responsible to repair and replace broken windows, doors and locks. 
  • Carry out general repairs to brick or block walls. 
  • Carry out plaster repair works to walls. 
  • Carry out general painting works as required. 
  • Carry out general plumbing, repairs and silicon sealant replacement, etc. 
  • Initiates orders for supplies for the trolley and maintain records of work completed. 
  • Ensure that all Work Order, PPM & General Maintenance works are executed, as directed by the immediate supervisor. 
  • Ensure engineering area is safe, kept clean and in an orderly manner. Keep close coordination with other engineering staff for smooth operation. 
  • Follow guest room preventive maintenance checklist to individually complete rooms' preventative maintenance process for guest rooms in efficient and effective manner. 
  • Ability to find fault and rectify systems as and when required. 
  • Any other duties and task as and when assigned by the superior or the hotel management 


  • Knowledge about Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Masonry, Painting, general maintenance is required. 
  • Same field as Ken Fix It with minimum 5 years of experience.
