Job Description

The Opportunity:

As our Housekeeping Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dedicated team, uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, and contribute to the creation of memorable stays.

In this role, you will oversee all aspects of a housekeeping section, from managing a team of talented professionals to ensuring that every guest room and public area reflects our commitment to excellence. Your leadership will drive the efficiency of operations, enhance guest satisfaction, and maintain the luxurious ambiance that defines Fairmont Royal York.

In this role you’ll get to:

  • Oversee and ensure the successful performance of the housekeeping department.
  • Deliver consistently warm and friendly service to both guests and team members.
  • Lead and coach the team to provide intuitive, guest-focused service and foster positive interdepartmental relationships.
  • Adhere to high cleaning standards and ensure all operations meet brand guidelines.
  • Handle requests efficiently, create a welcoming atmosphere, and support company policies and initiatives.
  • Manage the cleanliness, maintenance, and functionality of designated areas and equipment.
  • Develop departmental goals, oversee colleague growth, conduct performance reviews, and support financial and operational targets.

Qualifications

What you need to succeed:

  • Hotel Management/ Hospitality & Tourism degree or equivalent diploma is an asset
  • Previous Housekeeping leadership experience 
  • Knowledge of Property Management System (Opera PMS, HotSos/Rex or equivalent), Microsoft Office and Outlook 
  • May be required to work weekends and some evenings. Hours need to be flexible to accommodate to operational needs
