Job Description

• To ensure  that the established standards are maintained in Housekeeping departments areas of responsibility, according to maintenance programmed, cleaning schedules and designated deep-cleaning periods.

• Ensures that all Linen Room Operations are smooth-running and problem free, with policies and procedures in place and respected.

• Ensures that laundry operations provided by appointed contractor are to managements, staffs and guest satisfaction and in doing so, safeguards the condition, care and safekeeping of all hotel linen, staff uniforms, guest laundry and any other product which requires the services of these operators.

• Maintain personal contact with customers when and wherever possible.

• To handle and resolve all queries, request and/or complaints in an efficient manner and to establish an amicable relationship with all client, customers and guest of the hotel.

• Safeguards the property and privacy of guest of guesy and staff, handling over the management any item and or valuable found/ retrieved and refraining from divulging of any information non-related to work and job task concerning the laundry items and or belongings..

• To assist the rooms division to meet all expectations for a smooth handover of rooms for guest occupation/ check in specially by ensuring

• Take note of the occupancy forecast and advises the Executive Housekeeper of the availability and situation of laundry and linen within the hotel on a regular basis.

• Coordinates closely for overall operational requirements of the room division, as well as with other department head/executives  with regards to the areas and requirements involving housekeeping.
• Implements strict quality control as set by hotel standards in areas of concern i.e standard of laundering, dry-cleaning, pressing, folding etc.

• keeps a close vigil of all areas of the hotel to maintain clean,well organized and efficient work areas, in full working condition for the comfort, safety and pleasure of all guest and staff.

• Supervises operations of the linen room and safeguards that quality standards are maintained with special attention to departments profitand expenses, according to hotel policy, and that customer comfort, care and requirements are of utmost concern and urgency.

• To be fully aware and conversant of ISO 9001 (for Ibis Hotel) policies and procedures and is responsible to integrate them in the day to dayoperation

• To understand and strictly adhere to the rules & regulations established in the employees handbook an the hotel's policy on fire, Hygiene and health and safety.

• Takes part in meeting the departments targets by respecting the procedures and internal audits applicable in the hotel

• To liaise and inform the department head or human resources department of all the training sessions.

• To participate in the formulation of the annual operating budget in determining the project.

• Ensures that the workplace remains clean and tidy and safety of consumable goods by always respecting HACCP regulations

• Respects the instructions and safety guidelines for the equipment used

• Respect the hotels commitment to the "Environment Charter" (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc)

• Ensures that health, hygiene and safety regulations are complied with and applied in the departments in compliance with HACCP standards and procedures
