Job Description

Pullman Sydney Hyde Park is looking for a motivated and reliable part-time Handyperson to join our Engineering team! In this role, you will help maintain the hotel's facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our guests and our team members.

What will you be doing?

  • Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, painting, HVAC, and general upkeep of hotel facilities.
  • Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and service areas are in excellent working order.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel equipment, machinery, and systems to identify potential issues.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and materials, and requests replacements as necessary.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown for special events or room configurations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with hotel staff to address urgent maintenance concerns.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in hotels is preferred.
  • Self-motivated person who takes a proactive approach to work and is punctual and reliable.
  • Experience in operating a variety of equipment, including small hand tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accommodate flexibility with shifts.
