Our iconic hotel is set on Chapel Street within one of the most renowned districts in Melbourne and also features Brasserie Restaurant, Conferencing & Events venue, Gym and Pool.
We are looking for a Demi Chef to join our passionate and creative Kitchen team on a casual basis.
This role will be reporting directly into the Head Chef and will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Kitchen department.
This would be an exciting role for an individual with a conferencing background and as this role is very hands-on role, a passion for food is a must.
Duties:
Assisting the Kitchen Leadership team with:
- Ensure food standards, preparation and presentation is a high level and meets Brand Standard guidelines
- Dealing with suppliers
- Ensure the highest possible standard of hygiene is practiced and maintained to meet Health & Safety regulations and HACCP food preparation guidelines.
- Cultivate a positive work environment where learning and personal development are benchmarks by which quality improvement is driven.
- Working across our conferencing department as well as buffet and a la cart breakfast and room service
- Co-ordination of the stewarding team to meet the kitchen’s requirements
About You:
- Hotel experience desirable
- Commercial Kitchen experience
- Experience managing multiple sections
- Experience in Pans, Grill, Entrees and Desserts
- Able to work autonomously
- Experience with Conference & Events
- Able to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Sous Chef and Head Chef
- A keen eagerness and desire to create good food
