Do you have a passion for culinary excellence and creativity? We are looking for a Chef to join our team at Novotel Malta Sliema. In this role, you will lead kitchen operations, ensure consistency in food quality, and uphold the highest standards of hygiene and presentation.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment, is highly organised, and enjoys working with fresh Mediterranean flavours.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, manage kitchen staff, and contribute to menu development. You will ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards, in line with Accor and Novotel brand expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the cleaning, preparation, and maintenance of all kitchen equipment and utensils.
Supervise food preparation and ensure consistency in quality and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with HACCP and health & safety guidelines.
Organise, train, and support kitchen staff in daily operations.
Monitor food stock levels, control costs, and ensure minimal wastage.
Manage waste disposal and recycling processes in line with hotel guidelines.
Collaborate with chefs and F&B teams to design and deliver seasonal menus.
Ensure efficient kitchen workflows and timely service during busy operations.
Perform additional duties as required by the Executive Chef or management team.
About You
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role within hospitality.
Strong leadership and staff management skills.
Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
Strong organisational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Solid knowledge of kitchen equipment, safety protocols, and food hygiene regulations.
Adaptable, proactive, and able to work effectively under pressure.
A culinary degree or recognised kitchen certification is considered an asset.
