Job Description

Reporting to the Back of House Manager, The Stewarding Supervisor will assist the Executive Chef, Sous chefs and Chef de Partie by preparing and supplying the correct kitchen equipment. You will be responsible for the stewarding team and you will control and reinforce food hygiene standards by assuring the cleanliness of the all the F&B and BOH spaces

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Stewarding Supervisor, you will be overseeing all the sections within the kitchen area and leading the team of kitchen porters. The main duties include:

  • General cleaning of all kitchen common areas sweeps and mop floors
  • Making sure work surfaces, dishwashing machines, floors and staff canteen are always clean and sanitised.
  • Supervising and coordinating the stewarding team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
  • Ensuring that the food preparation sites are clean and ready with the necessary equipment
  • Providing guidance and assistance to team members as needed.
  • Ensuring the china store remains organised.
  • Checking and maintaining necessary documentation related to kitchen operations.
  • Preparing handover reports and updates for the direct manager on a daily basis.
  • Covering sickness when required
  • Following policies on absenteeism for the whole team and reporting it to the direct Manager
  •  
  • Making sure that the Health & Safety and COSHH procedures is followed by the team in every aspect of the operation
  • Attending all statutory training as required by the company
  • Train the team members when necessary
  • To carry out any reasonable requests made by a member of the management team.
  • Collaborating with the BOH manager in the monthly equipment stock takes / breakage report
  • Monitoring stock levels in the chemical store
  • Monitoring the usage of chemicals and equipment in the different sections

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Hotel environment
  • Understanding and complying food hygiene regulations
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Flexible to work morning, evenings or night shifts as per business needs
