Assistant Night Manager

We are looking for a night owl, someone who loves to work within a small team in a quiet environment during the overnight shift. The role requires someone with great focus and a solid understanding of the day to day operations of a hotel. You will be working an average of 2-3 shifts per week as a Night auditor or Night Manager. Some of the key duties you will perform are:

• Ensure the safety and security of the property and the smooth and efficient running of the Hotel's overnight operation.
• Provide supervision and support to the Front Office team and other departments when required.
• Ensure strict procedures are followed for all cash/credit, accounting and banking procedures, issue of keys and guest confidentiality.
• Be aware of room availability and sensitively manage overbooking situations where relocations are required.
• Carry out reception duties as required.
• Assist, as required, calls for reservations.
• Supervise night lobby services including car parking, portering, room service, security and public area cleaning.
• Attend to any disputes referred, ensuring total guest satisfaction. Resolve disputes personally where possible; avoid referring the guest to another person; resolve the issue and offer recover; act quickly to draw the matter to resolution.

To be successful, you will need:

• High level of computer literacy- Excel and Opera experience preferred
• Previous hotel experience in Front Office, preferably as Night Audit and/or Supervisor.
• Responsible Persons Badge, RSA valid in SA and up to date First Aid Qualification + CPR
• Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail.  
• Strong communication skills.
• Avid negotiator and diplomatic
• Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends & public holidays.
