Job Description

Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok is seeking a talented and passionate Jr. Sous Chef specializing in bakery to join our culinary team. In this role, you will assist in overseeing the daily operations of our bakery department, creating delectable pastries and baked goods that delight our guests and complement our wellness-focused offerings.

  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in managing daily bakery operations
  • Develop and execute new recipes for breads, pastries, and desserts
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all baked goods
  • Train and supervise junior bakers and pastry cooks
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Uphold strict food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with other kitchen departments to create cohesive menu offerings
  • Participate in menu planning and cost control measures
  • Assist in preparing special orders for events and functions
  • Stay current with baking trends and techniques to innovate our offerings

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or diploma with 2-3 years of professional baking experience in a high-volume setting
  • Proficiency in a wide range of baking techniques, recipe development, and modification
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to train and motivate team members
  • In-depth understanding of food safety practices and current food safety certification
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Creativity and passion for creating innovative baked goods
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills in Thai and English
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
