Hotel Woolstore 1888 – Handwritten Collection is one of Sydney’s most distinctive heritage hotels, set in the heart of Darling Harbour. Blending historic charm with contemporary style, our boutique property offers guests an unforgettable experience with its industrial-chic interiors, curated modern art and vibrant atmosphere.

Originally built in 1888, we are proud to be the fourth oldest of Sydney’s remaining wool stores. Today, this beautifully restored sandstone and brick landmark features 90 individually designed guest rooms, an award-winning local restaurant and bar, and versatile spaces for meetings and events — all inspired by the stories, creativity, and individuality that define the Handwritten Collection.

We’re on the lookout for a confident and motivated Front Office All-Rounder to join our dynamic team at Hotel Woolstore 1888. This is a hybrid Front Office/Food and Beverage role, perfect for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a boutique hotel environment, and genuinely loves connecting with people.

As a Heartist, you’ll play an important part in the guest journey - welcoming guests at reception, delivering friendly and attentive service in our restaurant and bar, and ensuring every interaction feels personal, effortless, and memorable.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver warm, personalised check-in and check-out experiences that reflect the Handwritten Collection spirit
• Provide exceptional front office service, assisting guests with enquiries, payments, and daily administrative tasks
• Support Food & Beverage operations, including serving food and beverages, engaging with guests, and creating a welcoming atmosphere
• Assist with the coordination and delivery of dining events and functions within our restaurant and bar spaces
• Handle guest requests and resolve concerns with care, confidence, and professionalism
• Maintain strong knowledge of the hotel, dining offerings, and local area to enhance the guest experience
• Support overall hotel operations with versatile support, including phones, emails, and occasional porter duties

• Experience in front office and/or food & beverage roles within a hospitality environment, ideally boutique or lifestyle hotels
• A genuine passion for personalised service and creating meaningful guest moments
• Confident, friendly communicator who enjoys building connections
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
• A positive, versatile mindset and willingness to support the team wherever needed
• Comfortable working a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Experience with hotel systems such as Opera Cloud is an advantage, but not essential
• Current RSA certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
