Electrician

This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all of Electrical systems and equipment including planned maintenance, installation and modifications.  

• Maintain and repair all electrical systems including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, electrical system installation and temporary power installations.  
• Ensure adherence to all OSHA regulations, follow internal safety policies and procedures.  
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on all equipment as assigned. Install wiring and devices.  
• Operate and maintain in-house lighting control systems.  
• May be responsible for assisting with the setup, tear down and distribution of temporary power for shows and events held on property.  
• Perform safety checks all electrical devices.  
• Maintain an adequate stock of parts and ensure cleanliness in assigned spaces.  
• Perform other duties as assigned.   
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and current local legislation.
• Read and follow blueprints/schematics to determine the location of wiring/equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical related technical or trade certification
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Electrician in hospitality industry, previous supervisory experience an asset
• Proficient in building operation electrical repair and maintenance plus basic knowledge of other building operations skill set
• The ability to use all general repair tools, read shop drawings and specifications and make rough estimates of required materials
• Good communication skills
• Physical ability to perform the assigned duties
• Experience Working in the UAE is an asset
• Must be a self-starter, who can work independently and will take initiative
• Must be creative, practical and have a pro-active approach to problem solving
