Duty Technician

A practical, hands-on maintenance role in a luxury hotel environment. This is a true on-the-tools position, supporting the day-to-day maintenance of the hotel and responding to maintenance requests as they arise. You’ll play a key role in keeping guest rooms, public spaces and back-of-house areas running smoothly, while assisting with preventative maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to guest and colleague maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner utilising Hub OS.
• Carry out routine preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and repairs across HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration and mechanical systems.
• Conduct regular checks of plant rooms, safety equipment and essential hotel infrastructure.
• Escalate and support more complex repairs by coordinating with contractors and external trades.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with WHS requirements and hotel safety standards.
• Maintain clear, accurate records of maintenance tasks and completed works.

What you will bring to the role:

• Practical, hands-on experience in a hotel, facilities or building maintenance environment.
• Exposure to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration or mechanical systems (trade qualification welcomed but not essential).
• A reliable, solutions-focused approach with the ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude when interacting with guests and colleagues.
• A safety-first mindset and the physical capability to carry out manual tasks.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including AM/PM shifts, weekends and public holidays.
