Job Description

Hong Loong, a premier Chinese restaurant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is seeking a talented and dedicated Commis III to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Commis III, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of various Chinese dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours
  • Support senior chefs in menu preparation and execution
  • Handle food items, ingredients, and kitchen equipment with care and efficiency
  • Participate in kitchen inventory management and stock rotation
  • Contribute to the development of new menu items and culinary innovations
  • Adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure consistent food quality and presentation for all dishes leaving the kitchen

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a busy kitchen, preferably in Chinese cuisine
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
  • Familiarity with different kitchen sections and their operations
  • Excellent understanding of food safety principles and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
  • Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently when required
  • Passion for culinary arts and dedication to customer satisfaction
