Barista (Cafe Java)

Cafe Java at Novotel Dubai Al Barsha is seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating exceptional coffee experiences for our guests while maintaining a clean and welcoming cafe environment.

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, drip coffee, and specialty drinks
• Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other cafe equipment
• Handle cash transactions and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
• Recommend and upsell coffee products and cafe menu items
• Assist in inventory management and restocking supplies
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations and excellent customer service
• Stay updated on coffee trends and share product knowledge with customers

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a barista preferred
• Strong knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and cafe operations
• Proficiency in operating espresso machines and other cafe equipment
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Basic math skills and cash handling experience
• Food handling certification preferred
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus
