Job Description

Position Overview:

Raffles & Fairmont Doha is seeking a dedicated and skilled Demi Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in the Employee Dining Room. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals for our staff. This role requires a team player who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation and Cooking:

    • Prepare and cook high-quality meals for the Employee Dining Room in accordance with the set menu and standards.
    • Ensure all food items are prepared according to company recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
  2. Kitchen Operations:

    • Assist the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the kitchen during your shift.
    • Manage the mise en place for your section and ensure all necessary ingredients are available and prepared.
    • Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff and apprentices, ensuring they follow proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
  3. Quality and Safety:

    • Maintain a clean and organized work station, following all health and safety regulations.
    • Monitor food stock levels and report any shortages to the Chef de Partie.
    • Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and correctly and report any maintenance issues.
  4. Menu Development:

    • Contribute ideas and suggestions for new dishes and improvements to existing menu items.
    • Participate in menu tastings and feedback sessions.
  5. Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other kitchen staff and departments to ensure a seamless service.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and communication.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Demi Chef de Partie or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
