Sabah is moving towards high-end tourism with the construction of its first dedicated convention centre. A prestigious development by Yayasan Sabah Group encompassing 15 acres of land with a total built-up area of over 92,000 m2, the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) is targeted for opening by 2020.

The SICC offers 5,300 m2 column-free convention hall, 5,300 m2 exhibition hall alongside with 20 meeting rooms, 4 VVIP meeting rooms and 3 VVIP lounges as well as a world standard performing arts hall with a permanent two-tier seating for l,250 audiences.

Essential and optional requirements


* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field required is preferred

* 10+ years’ experience in maintenance management role in a Hotel or Convention Centre

* Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics

* Effective interpersonal and written communication skills

* Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively

* Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

* Strong knowledge of operational engineering concepts, including electrical, HVAC, VRV, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

Key tasks


* Ensure that all the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are carried out in accordance with the pre-agreed time-frames and that work orders are completed in a timely manner in order not to impact service delivery and guest satisfaction

* Ensure that the functions operate in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of personnel and guests

* Ensure that all the equipment is maintained in accordance with legislation at all times

* Plan and oversee all repairs and installation activities and carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues

* Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates

* Oversee equipment stock and place orders for new supplies when necessary

* Coordinate and inspect work performed by outside vendors

* Implement health & safety policies and procedures for the department supported by risk assessments

* Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance

* Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs to the Director of Engineering
