Key tasks

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

To increase guest satisfaction by providing efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous service to guests in the hotel food and drink areas in line with departmental and hotel guidelines, and Accor corporate guidelines and service concepts.

TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PROVIDE EFFICIENT, PROMPT, TROUBLE FREE, AND COURTEOUS SERVICE

* Serves guests their orders promptly and courteously

* Set and serve tables in accordance with the restaurant service standards

* Accurately records guest orders and serves beverages orders

* Processes guest checks accurately

* Ensures that the working area and station is stocked with “mis-en-place” and kept clean and tidy at all times

* Ensures the smooth running of the assigned station at all times

* Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the food & beverage menus items to be able to advise guests on selection and promote additional sales accordingly

* Promotes additional sales by taking opportunities to up-sell, in a manner that is professional and courteous

* Liaises with the Manager or Supervisors concerning set-ups and reservations

* Has full knowledge of alcohol and liquor policies and regulations, and complies fully with them

* Greets all guests in a friendly and professional manner

* Serves guests their food and beverage promptly and courteously

* Makes clear orders to kitchen production, and bar regarding beverages; registers orders according to hotel procedures

* Checks the restaurant reservations list frequently during the shift
