Description du poste

Within the Trains’ Team at Orient-Express, the Planning Manager will be responsible and accountable for establishing, maintaining, and tracking optimized and harmonized schedules.

Within our team dedicated to railway projects, the Planning Manager plays a crucial role at the heart of a unique project that captures the attention of the entire Accor Group. The Planning Manager will work closely with the Project Manager, to whom he will directly report. In a context of brand development where expectations regarding delivery and quality are high, the Planning Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining optimized schedules, harmonizing activities among various service providers, and closely monitoring progress. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Your missions and responsibilities:

  • Establish the overall work schedule, taking into account project deadlines, resources, and constraints.
  • Coordinate and harmonize schedules among the various service providers involved in the project.
  • Ensure regular monitoring of work progress with service providers, identifying and assisting in the resolution of any delays or issues.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to ensure overall project coherence and compliance with objectives and quality standards.
  • Proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of deadlines and expectations.
  • Visiting industrial sites in France and abroad to closely monitor all provided services, including studies, homologation, construction, procurement, etc

Qualifications

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Master’s degree in engineering in one or more of the following fields: civil, mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automation
  • 10 years of professional experience including Industrial projects background
  • Relevant experience in project management, preferably in an operational job in railways or other heavy industries
  • Proficiency in planning and project management tools (such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • French and English language required. Other languages such as Italian are a plus
  • Strong management skills
  • Strongly process-oriented
  • Experience working with multiple partners
  • Results driven, self- starter, problem solver with proven ability to drive projects to a successful conclusion
  • Team oriented and excellent communication skills are essential
  • Strong sense of organization, rigor, and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to travel on short notice
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office products with an emphasis on Excel.

Appreciated Skills:

  • Knowledge of the railway sector and its technical specificities
  • Certification in project management (such as PMP, Prince2, etc.)
  • Experience in projects exceeding €500 million
  • Experience in renovation works (rolling stock, infrastructure, etc.)
  • Experience working with multiple partners
  • Experience in the luxury industry
  • Experience in coordinating projects involving multiple international stakeholders.

The Planning Manager will work within a close-knit team, currently consisting of 5 individuals, with a goal to expand to around ten members through recruitment efforts.
